Pavilion the Leyen
Paviljoen de Leyen, located on the beautiful lake De Leijen between Rottevalle and Eastermar, offers a unique place to relax and enjoy nature. The area, part of the national landscape De Noardelijke Fryske Walden, is managed by Staatsbosbeheer and is known for its ecological value within the Northern Netherlands. The story goes that the name De Leijen dates back to the 18th century, when locals feared that the reclamation of the peat bog would lead to strife, pronounced in Frisian as “dit wurdt Leien.” Today, you can enjoy delicious food at Paviljoen de Leyen and enjoy a changing menu of classic dishes in a new twist. For families, this is a perfect destination. Children can play, swim, climb and scramble while parents relax. The basement of the pavilion houses a play area where children can run around safely. Outside, the beach with sunbathing area offers plenty of fun with a water pump and zip line. There is always a coloring sheet available for the young artists among us. In addition, Pavilion de Leyen organizes various activities such as murder dinners, crazy bingo and “Ik Hou van Holland” nights, providing entertainment for the whole family. Whether you come for a nice meal, a fun activity or just to enjoy the beautiful surroundings, Paviljoen de Leyen has everything you need for a successful day out. Stop by and experience for yourself the hospitality and fun at Pavilion de Leyen, where relaxation and adventure go hand in hand.
