Pavilion ‘t Mar is a real gem, tucked away on the cliff near Mirns. Here at the front you can enjoy a panoramic view of the IJsselmeer, while at the back you can walk straight into the Rijster forest. This makes it the perfect place for a family day out.

Whether you enjoy a long walk, a bike ride, (kite)surfing or just relaxing, Paviljoen ‘t Mar is the place to be. After all the exertion, it is great to recover with a snack and a drink. The motto “Natural enjoyment” is palpable in every corner here.

There is a cozy indoor play area for children, and the menu offers special dishes for little ones. Moreover, they have coloring pages there and children can play in the shallow water, or do a scavenger hunt among the old beeches of the Rijster forest.

Dogs are also welcome, if leashed, and there is always a bowl of water for them.

Pavilion ‘t Mar’s menu is versatile and offers something for everyone, from coffee and something sweet to elaborate lunches and dinners. Local products play a big role, with ice cream from ice cream farm the Bûterkamp and pastries from bakery Twijnstra, for example. Vegetarians and vegans won’t be short of anything here either.

The pavilion itself is sustainably built, with a transparent design that allows you to immediately see the IJsselmeer upon entering. As soon as the sun shines, the sliding doors open and you can enjoy the view on the terrace. In winter, it is cozy inside, with the same beautiful view.

The Rijster forest across the street offers beautiful hiking trails, ideal for a quiet stroll among the ancient oaks and beeches. Pavilion ‘t Mar is truly a place where you can enjoy nature, views and delicious food all year round.
